The Cayuga County Vietnam Memorial stands as a tribute to the 29 American service members from Cayuga County, New York, who made the ultimate sacrifice during the Vietnam War. Located in Centerport Aqueduct Park, Weedsport, NY, this monument preserves their legacy and ensures their bravery is never forgotten.

Our skilled in-house craftspeople played a pivotal role in bringing this project to life which was commissioned by Four Seasons Memorials in Auburn, NY and the Cayuga County Vietnam Veterans Group.

Using a combination of artistry and advanced technology, we etched intricate details into the African Jet Back granite. As seen in the behind-the-scenes image, our talented memorial craftsman, John, was responsible for hand-painting an engraved map that forms part of the monument.

At HGH, we use state-of-the-art impact etching machines to create highly detailed designs. The impact etching process involves removing a fine layer of the stone’s polish to reveal a lighter hue beneath, allowing us to produce photorealistic images for one-of-a-kind granite memorials. This technology played a crucial role in capturing the essence of the Cayuga Veterans Memorial.

However, not every project is without its challenges. The journey to completing this memorial was filled with obstacles, from design complexities to material considerations. But within our big family team, we embrace challenges as opportunities to create something truly remarkable. Check out the story of this powerful tribute in full.
